Kotgarh is a village (small town?) near Thanadhar, in the Narkanda area of the Satluj Valley. The small and quaint St Mary’s Church was built there in 1872, with a boxy wooden steeple. Parts of the exterior wall and a few buttresses had their plaster removed (hopefully as part of a restoration process) and we could see the alternating layers of timber and stone work, similar to the kath khuni technique used in Himachal.
