Tamil Nadu Temple Run: Thanjavur

The early-11th c Brihadeshwara Temple in Thanjavur, precursor to and even larger than the temple at Gangaikondacholapuram, is so big that it is simply called the Big Temple locally. Once again, it takes a few minutes to comrehend the massiveness of the structure when on site, and it is difficult to express the scale in photos.

For an introduction to my Tamil Nadu Temple Run trip, visit the first (Chidambaram) post.
