Even though the hillock of Rajagiri is higher than Krishnagiri, and its shape is more impressive, and it is more central to the general scheme of Gingee Fort and the main palace structures, and it was possibly the more important of the two hills, it is the remaining structures at the top of Krishnagiri that present a more romantic atmosphere of ruins.
